The Family Silver is a very special bottle. As far as we can tell, you just can’t get this one anymore.
People who have tried this one talk about it as a heavier-than-usual Bunnahabhain, proving that the distillery can foot it with the other Islay malts in the peaty stakes. All the same, there’s a sweetness and a nice cocoa and sherry edge to it.
But we can’t promise anything of the sort. We have one bottle of this, and we’re unlikely to open it any time soon, as much as we’d love to. Really pleased to have this in the collection – and that’s where it’s going to stay.
You can back order it, in case one becomes available in future – but I wouldn’t hold your breath.
