Master Distiller Willie Cochrane kindly showed us around the Jura Distillery. We thought you might like to join us for that.
Part 1: The Mash House
Part 2: The Tun Room
Part 3: The Still Room
Part 4: The Spirit Safe
What an absolute privilege to get a private tour like that from such a legendary distiller as Willie. A real highlight among many in our trip to Jura.

Wow – what a fantastic behind the scenes look! I don’t think there’s anything else like this anywhere.
Getting the process explained like that by such an amazing expert and seeing it all in front of you is superb. I might never get to Scotland, but with all these posts I feel like I’m getting to know Jura and that’s so amazing.
Pass the Superstition! :)
I don’t like very much whiskey/whisky (and I’ve even been known to put coke in it – sorry!) but I do really like Isle of Jura. Seeing it being made here is so cool. I’m going to buy a bottle for my boyfriend… and maybe he’ll take the hint and one day we’ll get to visit. Hope we get to meet Willie when we do – he’s so lovely!
hey guys
great site and great post. i’ve linked to it in my blog. now also people from the holyland will read about jura.
